Through training, he holds a degree in Biblical Studies. Originally from West Virginia, our founders were led by the Lord in Carrollton, Georgia, to feed those who were hungry for God's Word.
Mechelle Patrick
Kids Church Director
Mechelle Patrick began working in the Teens Ministry in 1993 and in Kids Church Ministry in 1995. She felt there was a need, so she filled it.
"I believe it is very important to teach children how to live victorious spirit led lives and how to control their thoughts. It is important that they learn to be positive and minister to everyone around them with their words, even more so, with their actions."
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free"

Tim Gribben and Todd Patrick
Worship Leaders
Tim Gribben has been attending Deeper Life for 25 years and has been active in the ministry 20 years.
"The greatest impact on my life, through the ministry, is the opportunity to see how great God works in the lives of others. From a very young age I’ve had music in my blood. After many years of not using the talents God gave to me, I submitted them to Him and have had an awesome time seeing him move in my life, the lives of my families, and my church family.
Todd Patrick has been attending DLCC for 26 years.
Although Todd was apart of the praise team for 26 years, he became leader about 15 years ago.
"I believe I was called into this ministry as a teenager before we moved from West Virginia, to Carrollton, Georgia. This ministry is very important to the people of the church because it kicks the service off! Praise & Worship sets the tempo of the morning and helps break through the weight and burdens of life!
Todd is Pastor Dan & Pastor Carla's youngest son and he is happy to see his entire family involved in the ministry here at Deeper Life. Here since the beginning of the church, he is happy to see the years of change and growth that God has brought to Carrollton, Ga through the work of Deeper Life and it's ministries.

Ben and Cortney Johnson
Youth Directors
Ben Johnson and Cortney has been attending DLCC for 24 years & working in the ministry for 20 years. Ben recalls very vividly when God called him into the ministry.
"I was 16 years old when God spoke to me at a youth camp, He told me I would one day work with & lead a youth ministry. I love the youth and working with them. It's so awesome to see how God works through the life of our Deeper Life "Chosen" teens. It is a joy to watch them grow up and see how they handle what life throws at them, leaning on God for His guidance.

Meet Our Leaders
Joey Patrick
Lead Usher and Young Adults
Joey Patrick has been leading the DLCC Ushers for over 10 years, working with the Young Adults Ministry for 6 years, and is currently the leader of Christian Education at Deeper Life, along with his wife, Mechelle.
Joey may seem like a "Do it all" guy since he is involved in so much of the church, but there is one simple explanation for that: He is Pastor Dan & Pastor Carla's Oldest son. Here since the church's establishment, he is happy to see the years of change and growth that God has brought to Carrollton, Ga through the work of Deeper Life and it's ministries.
Joey believes in stepping up in your church body.
"There are needs in all church bodies and a calling is placed on every member to step up and perform the work of God through your church body. Tithe your time wisely and God will reward that. Integrity is all but lost in the world we live in so we Christians are called to step up and bring integrity not only to our callings & ministries, but to a hurting world who look to us to be the light."
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
1 Corinthians 12:27

Shane Formby
Men's Ministry
Rev. Shane Formby has been attending DLCC for over 10 years. Shane was an active member of the Disciples of Christ; Ministry with Power, before attending Deeper Life. With a group of 8-12 men, they demonstrate the power of Christ through object lessons and body building techniques. Through this program Shane has been able to share his testimony many times and lead many lives to Christ. He found a calling for working with men who desired a life of surrender to God.
“ I want God to work through me and Mens Ministry to show men that to be a “mans man”, you need to be a warrior of God. To be a warrior, you must start in your home by putting these three important things first in your life: praying, reading and studying God’s Word, and being involved in a church family!
Through the Mens Ministry we help one another be the men that God calls us to be. We are WARRIORS!”

Joanne & Clayton Mitchell
Food Ministry
Joanne & Clayton Mitchell have been attending DLCC for over 11 years. They became the directors of the church's food ministry 10 years ago.
The Food Ministry works with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and their "Feeding America" program. A program once established by Elders Jesse & Willie Jewel Brawner, the Food Ministry has become one of Deeper Life's strongest & longest running ministries since the church began. Joanna & Clayton are honored to be apart of such a long standing outreach, as well as answering the call God placed on their hearts.
"For a church our size, our impact on our community is amazing! In 2016 we distributed 80,000 pounds of food. We serve 80-90 families weekly and approximately 500 families per month.

Glenn & Kim Mills
Men & Women's Ministry
Glenn and Kim have been a part of DLCC for 7 years. Our ministry is mostly focused toward Evangelism and equipping the Saints. We have a heart to see people's lives changed through having a true encounter with Jesus Christ. Glenn helps Rev. Shane with conferences for the men and also helps coordinate outreach events such as Carry the Cross on Good Friday. Kim is a leader in the Women's Ministry. Her heart is to see women grow and mature into the wives, mothers, daughters, etc. that God has called them to be. To see their worth in the Kingdom of God here on this earth.
